Delta Signs Five-Year Agreement with Shell Aviation for SAF Use
Delta Air Lines has signed a five-year agreement with Shell Aviation, valid through 2030, to increase the supply of sustainable aviation fuel (SAF). Under the collaboration, SAF supply is planned at key hubs and priority locations across the U.S., including Los Angeles, Portland, New York JFK, Boston Logan and Minneapolis-St. Paul airports.
The agreement covers not only fuel supply but also the development of the infrastructure required for the transportation, blending, storage and distribution of SAF. Shell Aviation will support the delivery of both blended and neat SAF at selected hubs, contributing to a more reliable and consistent supply system for Delta’s operations.
The collaboration between Delta and Shell aims to make SAF a regular part of the airline’s daily operations rather than a one-off initiative. The agreement is expected to strengthen Delta’s fuel diversification as well as its access to sustainable aviation fuel and long-term supply capacity.
